Report on Taxonomy use in Australia

This is a report by Matt Moore about the use of taxonomies within Australian organisations. Survey based, most of the respondents (unsurprisingly) from the public sector. While we are not really into taxonomies in a formal way for this project, apart from what is being produced in the formal digitisation of video, getting a handle on what they are, their relevant contexts and the like is useful. Those who come from disciplines and professions that rely on taxonomies often talk a different episteme to those that come from what I’d think of as the new/social/internet media disciplines and practices.

It’s a pdf, I got this via an email list – Taxonomy use in Australia – http://innotecture.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/moore_olc-24-6-article.pdf
